hmm.

So okay, I'm taking an online course this summer. It's mostly just to pad my endorsement in English, and it's not a big deal if I do very well.

However.

Part of every online course, it seems, is to post your own question about the text that the class is reading and discussing for the week. We're doing Hamlet this week. I've read Hamlet three times, so I feel as if I know a lot about it. I asked a question about Denmark because that's where its set and something else about the religious notes in the text. One of my classmates responded, and done.

Then the prof chimes in and practically tells me, "Well what you SHOULD be asking about is Shakespeare's audience, not Denmark."

Really? Do you have to invalidate my question like that? I guess I'm at the point in my academic career where I feel my interest in a certain part of a work is valid and I don't need to be steered in another direction.

Hmpf, this may actually HINDER my performance in a class. What a rip.
